Bringing up Baby, but Baby isn’t a leopard.

• Contractions are coming fast, like every three minutes or so.
• She’s off the monitor again and walking around.
• “Dag!” was her last quote.
• We’ve got the Wizard of Oz on.
• Not to talk strictly about urine, but! For some reason they want to collect all of her urine? So every time I go to take a leak I have to move her bucket of urine out of the way. THIS IS CALLED LOVE.

Since Val is being induced they have her on the real time stat machine — which looks a lot like CNN’s perception analyzers they used during the debates. This means she can’t really walk around a whole lot. Right now she is off the monitor for like thirty minutes and bouncing on an exercise ball. She seems a ton happier not being trapped in bed.

Also, we’ve got a new nurse who isn’t uberhyped like the other one was. Both of them have been super into pain meds. “WE CAN GIVE YOU PAIN MEDS RIGHT NOW IF YOU WANT? YOU KNOW WE HAVE PAIN MEDS.” Val has stalwartly refused them. It does make me a bit uncomfortable to be honest. I feel like they are selling me a used car a little bit.

But things are great thus far.

They brought me McDonalds! Wooooo. Also whoa low light levels.

It looks like I’m not the only one in our family with pee anxieties.

I feel the need to keep posting, like I am live blogging the mayoral debate again. THE PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW. Thus far Val’s been having contractions every seven to five minutes — which is a good sign. Hopefully it will continue. She seems to be in good spirits. I asked her what she wanted me to do and she said “not that.” So ok.
